6 Years of SPINOGY – The Story Behind It

Today, on 17 July 2026, SPINOGY is already turning 6 years old. It is incredible how quickly time flies and how much has developed over the past few years.

It all started with an idea: to rethink motor spindles from the ground up. Our goal was not only to develop our own product, but also to build a completely in-house production operation. A motor spindle “made in Germany” – at a time that was economically anything but easy and has remained challenging to this day.

But how do four mechanical engineers even come up with the idea of founding a motor spindle company in the first place?

The answer is simple: we had already spent five to six years working together at another spindle manufacturer. We knew the market, the technology and, above all, the things we wanted to do better. Out of that experience grew the desire to build something of our own.

The preparations began a full three months before the actual founding. A business plan had to be drawn up, the company formation organised and suitable premises for offices and production found. In the end, we found what we were looking for in Weiterstadt.

Next came the fitting-out of our new premises. Alongside the first office workstations, a new turning centre and a milling centre also moved in – the foundation for our own production.

After around a year of intensive development, the first prototype parts were created in 2021. Assembly and countless tests followed. We will probably never forget the moment our first motor spindle turned for the very first time. For us, it was proof that an idea had become reality.

It all began with our X22 – SPINOGY’s first spindle series. A modular, configurable motor spindle that, to this day, ranks among the most compact and lightest in its performance class. In October 2021, we were finally able to deliver our first spindle to a customer.

In the early years, we did everything ourselves: development, manufacturing, assembly, sales, shipping and customer service. At the same time, processes had to be established and structures created so that the company could grow.

Today, our team consists of 11 employees. Without their daily commitment, their passion and their high standards of quality, SPINOGY would not be where it is today. For that, we would like to thank each and every one of them from the bottom of our hearts.

In 2023, our second spindle series followed with the X30. After the X22 had already successfully established itself on the market, the X30 allowed us to open up new applications – with larger tool interfaces and even more power. At the same time, the X22 was continuously developed further and expanded with numerous options.

Today, more than 900 SPINOGY spindles are in operation worldwide. And this is only the beginning. New developments, further spindle series and exciting projects are already waiting in the wings.
